A rule for the age range to date within, that has always worked for me, is half your age +/- 7.
For YEARS I used to tease my older sister about being born in the year of the Snake because she has an intense phobia of things that slither or wriggle. But we’ve both since learned that she’s actually born in the year of the Dragon, so now I get to call her Dragon Lady (especially when she’s made at me).

I liked your article a lot, but I had an issue with some ageism there (I fight against this myself)…
“ interesting exercise to see how old of a person I should be open to. If left to my own devices, I don’t think I would actively seek out someone pushing 41”

a lot has to do with the urge for pairing/coupledom for the purpose of the ideal one track life. (mate/make a family). if you question why that is your only mode for pairing…it just doesn’t make sense.

the other things make a lot of sense! like bill and judy, i am the fire sheep and my partner is a wood dragon. our child is a metal (golden ;) pig (lucky kid!) and although i’m supposed to be docile, he will be the first to say…this is not true lol. but one does wonder how the western and eastern worlds align..I’m a fire sign and he’s an earth sign so they reflect east/west alignments to some extent.

I’m a fire snake (1977)had 2 ex husbands. 1st was an Ox, apparently he’s supposed to be compatible but wz the worst out of the lot. He still is. 2nd was a dragon 1976 fire dragon, not at all compatible. Just got on my nerves and a complete ass hole. At 40 years , I met another fire dragon 1976, and we have been together for 6 years. He’s amazing! Gets easily agitated with people and sees the whole world as a cruel place. I have opened his eyes to new beginnings and to see things from my eyes , he sees me as his beautiful secret garden. A place to be himself. He is the most intelligent ,caring and loving man I have ever met. He is definitely my soul mate !

I’m a earth pig and I had 2 rats for husbands. The second one was a fair compatibility and I am now a widow. The first doesn’t bare to be considered. He was awful.

When someone asks my sign, I like to say, “Yield right of way”. But just based on my own life, it’s hard to take any of it seriously: I’m a fire pig, my husband was a wood monkey, and we were together over 50 (not always perfect!) years! And our western signs were also supposed to be incompatible (I’m a Scorpio. he was a Sagittarius).
I hope and think you’ll find the right person by human attraction and good sense. Don’t worry too much about the signs.
