Hi Joanne, you can double-check the package for the ingredients, but rice flour should be gluten-free, as are many rice noodles.

Hi Joanne, actually, tang yuan is naturally gluten-free, because they use glutinous rice flour (sticky rice flour), which contrary to the name, does not contain any wheat gluten. You can check out our gluten-free and gluten-free adaptable recipes here: https://thewoksoflife.com/category/recipes/gluten-free-recipes/

Some of them have ingredients like soy sauce and oyster sauce that require you to get gluten-free versions, and Shaoxing wine, which can be replaced with a gluten-free dry cooking sherry.

Troll? Surely you jest? But just in case not: glutinous rice doesn’t contain gluten! It’s another name for sticky rice. Totally gluten free! Enjoy!

I was scanning the directions trying to ascertain whether or not these rice balls can be made gluten free. I know it sounds ridiculous but perhaps not impossible. (Gluten causes mal absorption in my system resulting in anemia.) There are Gluten Free flour preparations that promise a bit of spring in the dough. Have you ever considered looking into Gluten Free recipes? I think I might try this one.
